The trainer aircraft that went missing in Jharkhand has been found submerged in the Chandil dam's reservoir, located in Seraikela-Kharswan district. According to officials, the plane, a Cessna-152, disappeared after taking off from the Sonari aerodrome in Jamshedpur on Tuesday. Onboard were a trainee pilot and an instructor.

Tragically, both individuals, identified as Captain Jeet Satru and trainee pilot Subrodeep Dutta, were discovered deceased in the reservoir on Thursday.

Efforts to retrieve the aircraft are ongoing, as it remains deeply submerged in the dam's waters. The search team, consisting of 19 members from the Indian Navy, continues their operation in the area.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Chandil confirmed that the operation is still underway, and authorities are working diligently to recover the aircraft.

The search for the missing aircraft intensified after local villagers reported seeing it crash into the reservoir, according to Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat from Seraikela-Kharsawan district. East Singhbhum's Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal, mentioned that the aircraft's last recorded location, as tracked by Air Traffic Control, was near Nimdih in the Chandil sub-division.

Earlier, officials confirmed that search operations were initiated across the Seraikela district when the training aircraft went missing shortly after taking off from Sonari airport in Jamshedpur. District Commissioner Ravishankar Shukla also stated, "We received information that a training aircraft, which departed from Jamshedpur, has gone missing."

A large-scale search operation was launched, involving the administrations of East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts, along with local police and the Forest Department. The search area was expanded to include the Purulia district of West Bengal, in addition to the areas surrounding Nimdih.
