With each new Mission Impossible movie, actor Tom Cruise raises the bar for life-or-death action scenes. The actor will pull off a risky airborne action for the upcoming Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1. He just appeared in a new BTS video that was posted online, which provides a closer view of the seemingly impossible stunt. At a special screening of Top Gun: Maverick earlier this year, the video was first shown. The entire footage, however, has never been seen before.

The film opens up with a close-up of Tom standing on a flying biplane at a considerable altitude. He controls the biplane with one hand while speaking to the audience in midair while not wearing a harness. The actor can be heard discussing filming for the most recent MI project and showing his excitement with fans in the video. He is joined in the one-minute video by director Christopher McQuarrie, who jokingly tells him to stop talking so they can finish their part before the sun sets. Tom nonchalantly holds on to the aircraft as it performs a semi-belly roll and takes off.

The video looked to be captured by a third aircraft that was flying close by. On Monday morning, Erik Davis from Fandago published it for the first time. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Everyone thinks Tom Cruise is crazy for jumping on a couch, but they ignore that he is really out there just standing on a decade old biplane as if it is another Monday.” “Tom cruise is absolutely INSANE, love that for him,” added another one.

Tom Cruise was spotted filming for Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part I last year in the air, on a train, and while driving. In 2023, the movie is scheduled for release. Along with Tom, Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, and Henry Czerny play significant parts. The movie is the seventh instalment in the well-known Mission Impossible movie series, which debuted in 1996. Dead Reckoning Part 2, which comes out in 2024, is reportedly going to be the series' last movie—at least for Tom Cruise.
