Kolkata: Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has become a voter from Kolkata ahead of the West Bengal elections. Now, it is discussed that he can contest from a seat in Kolkata on a BJP ticket. Earlier, Mithun was a voter from Mumbai.

Mithun Chakraborty's family has also confirmed that he has built his voter ID from Kashipur-Belgachia. Mithun Chakraborty's sister Sharmistha Sarkar has spoken to the media and said that Mithun has made an identity card from his address. He said that whenever Mithun come to Kolkata, he stayed at my house. Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha member Mithun Chakraborty had subscribed to the BJP ahead of PM Narendra Modi's rally at the Brigade Parade Ground on March 7.

However, he did not disclose whether he would contest the election. Mithun's sister Sharmistha has revealed that Dada will fit in any post. It looks good to see him active once again. The BJP has so far released the list of candidates for four phases in the West Bengal elections. The list was given a ticket from Kashipur-Belgachia to Tapan Saha. After the list was released, Tapan Saha said that he had never joined the BJP, after which he refused to contest the election. Mithun Chakraborty has now made a voter ID letter from the same constituency in Kolkata, after which speculations have intensified that he will contest the election.
