Aizwal: Mizoram has reported 268 new cases of corona infection in the last 24 hours and one person has died of infection. With this, the number of infected cases in the state has increased to 15,899 and that of corona deaths to 71. An official said on Wednesday that a 92-year-old woman from Aizawl district lost her life on Tuesday due to infection. The state is currently undergoing treatment for 3,637 patients and so far 12,191 patients have recovered from the disease.

According to the official, 2,443 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which 268 people were confirmed to have infection. He explained that the new infected cases include more than 60 children and a health worker. State Immunization Officer Dr. Laljawami informed that 3,14,844 people in the state have been given the first dose of corona vaccine, out of which 53,260 have been given both doses.

The risk of the second wave of corona epidemic in the country is steadily decreasing. In the last 24 hours, 62,224 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country and 2,726 patients have lost their lives. At the same time, the number of recovering patients in the country is also steadily increasing. In the past, 1,07,628 patients have overcome the disease, and with this, the number of corona cures across the country has reached 2,83,88,100 so far. There are currently 8,65,432 active cases in the country.
