Aizawl: The number of infected people has increased to 18,624 in Mizoram on Thursday after 226 new corona cases were reported. An official has given information about this. He said the total death toll due to infection in the last 24 hours has gone up to 86. The official said aizawl has the highest number of 140 cases, Kolacib 37 and Lunglei 31. The rest of the cases have been received from other districts.

The official said the new patients include 19 prisoners of Aizawl Central Jail, 54 children, 2 front line workers and a BSF jawan. Six patients had returned from somewhere. Mizoram is currently undergoing treatment for corona virus infection with 4,442 people recovering from the infection. The rate of recovery of patients is 75.68 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 3136 samples have been tested for Covid-19 and more than 4.65 lakh samples have been tested so far. State immunization officer Dr Laljawami informed that more than 4.37 lakh people have received anti-covid-19 vaccine till Wednesday. Of these, 53,892 people have been vaccinated.
