New Delhi: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, February 20, extended wishes to the people of Mizoram on their 37th statehood day.

"Best wishes to the people of Mizoram on their Statehood Day" Pm Modi Said in Tweet. Mizoram is known for its natural beauty, hardworking people and outstanding Mizo culture. May the aspirations of the people of Mizoram continue being fulfilled in the coming times." Pm continued.

President Droupadi Murmu also greeted people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their statehood day and said these states represent India's rich culture and diversity. 

Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram got the status of state from Union Territory on this day in 1987.

"Happy Statehood Day to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. India's diverse and rich culture is represented by these states. When I recently visited Mizoram, I was incredibly moved by the welcoming atmosphere there. The president tweeted, "I am looking forward to statehood day celebrations in Itanagar today."

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, also sent greetings to Mizoram on an auspicious day. "On the occasion of Mizoram's statehood day, congratulations to the population. Natural splendor and cultural diversity are incredibly abundant in Mizoram. I ask for the state's ongoing growth, success, and prosperity "Yogi tweeted as CM.

Aizawl serves as the capital of Mizoram, one of the states in Northeast India. The name Mizoram is derived from the Mizo words Mi (people), Zo (lofty area, such as a hill), and Ram (country), thus it means "Land of the Hill People."
Mizoram, along with a number of other northeastern Indian states, was formerly a part of Assam until it was separated as a Union Territory in 1972. On February 20, 1987, it surpassed Union Territory in terms of federal autonomy and became the 23rd state of India.
