Bengaluru: Congress MLA R. Akhand Srinivasa Murthy has filed a complaint in the police station on Friday in connection with the attack on his residence and property during the violence and said that the loss of up to Rs 3 crore is estimated. Violence erupted due to a post allegedly shared on social media.
The Congress MLA has sought police protection for himself, his family and the people of Pulakeshinagar assembly constituency. He represents this area. In this regard, Murthy said, "I have made a complaint in which I have mentioned the damage and told the police to investigate and find out the culprits and get me justice." He told the reporters that along with the complaint, he has also given full details of the loss. Mr Nivasamurthy further said, "There is a loss of about 3 crore rupees including the house. The residence is completely ruined, I am deeply sad because I was born in this residence and this is where I grew up, it was built by my parents, it was a memory of my parents."
MLA Murthy's relative P. Naveen shared the inflammatory post on social media followed by mob violence and vandalism by the crowd in D.J.Hali and the surrounding area, after which the police fires and 3 people died. MLA Murthy said that in the complaint he neither took any name nor held anyone responsible for it. He further said that the police should investigate the case and find out.
