TPCC President claims to contest by-elections in Dubbaka Assembly

Constant political hustle-bustle remains in Telangana. Now, in recent news, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday announced that the party would contest by-elections in Dubbaka Assembly constituency. The seat remains unoccupied after the sudden quietus of TRS MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy.

The TPCC chief, talking on the event of TJS Secretary Bhawani Reddy joining the Congress, asked the DCC president Narsa Reddy to take active measures to strengthen the party at Mandal level and also convene a constituency-level meeting. He asked the party cadre to gear up for the by-elections. Expressing apprehension over the increase in attacks and atrocities on Dalits across Telangana State, he added Narsimhulu, a Dalit farmer, committed suicide in Gajwel, the Chief Minister’s constituency after his land was allegedly taken away by the government.

Similarly, another Dalit youth committed suicide in a police station after he was allegedly subjected to harassment by the police, he said, adding that this all would be sent to the Union Ministry for Social Justice, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and National Scheduled Castes Commission on the attacks on Dalits in the State seeking their involvement.
