Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Bihar's capital Patna today on a day-long visit. Prime Minister Modi will also visit the Bihar Assembly to attend the centenary closing ceremony. Invitation letters have also been sent to Bihar MLAs, MLCs and former MLAs to attend the function. Amidst the preparations, the officers have made a big mistake, which has been the subject of discussion ahead of the Prime Minister's visit.
While sending an invitation for the Prime Minister's visit, the officers also sent an invitation to a former MLA from North Bihar who had died four years ago. The family members of former MLA Abdul Payami were shocked when they received an invitation letter in his name. Congress workers in the area also expressed surprise over this.
Abdul Payami represented the Laukaha assembly constituency of Madhubani in the 1980s. He died four years ago. Congress general secretary Sheetalambar Jha said, "When the invitation letter came in the name of Payami Saheb, we were stunned, the officials of the assembly should know that they are no longer among us." After the incident, it was said by the Assembly Secretariat that former MLAs and MLCs have also been invited to the celebrations to mark the centenary year of the Assembly complex. According to agency sources, he confessed that the inclusion of the deceased person in the list of invitees is a big and serious lapse. He said the guest list was also passed by the Special Protection Group (SPG). PM Narendra Modi will reach Patna at around 5:15 pm on Tuesday.
