Fatehabad: In a shocking incident, 63-year-old Amarveer has been convicted for raping more than 100 women in Fatehabad, Haryana. Additional District Judge Balwant Singh sentenced 63-year-old Amarpuri to 14 years in jail. Fatehabad fast track court pronounced the sentence against Billuram alias Amarpuri. In this, there is a punishment of 14 years under the POCSO Act, 5 years in the IT Act, and 14 years in the rape case, but all the sentences will run simultaneously.
Amarveer is also known as Jalebi Baba Amarpuri Billu. Jalebi Baba has been convicted by a fast-track special court. He is not only accused of rape but also of making video clips of those crimes. Popularly known as Jalebi Baba, the man used to forcibly rape women by giving them drugs and then collect money by making obscene videos on his mobile. That is why he was convicted under the IT Act, NDPS Act, and Arms Act.
Advocate Sanjay Verma, appearing for the victims, said all the sentences would go simultaneously and the tantric would have to spend 14 years behind bars. He said that he has been in jail for the last 4.5 years and he will have to stay in jail for nine and a half years. Criminal Baba was released under the Arms Act. Other details of the judgment will come to the fore after going through the copy of the order. Self-styled godman Amarveer, popularly known as Amarpuri alias Billu, was convicted of rape by a Fatehabad court on January 5. The convict could not be sentenced on January 7 as the full trial could not be held. After being convicted by the judge, Baba started crying bitterly in the courtroom. On July 19, 2018, an informer showed a sex video clip to the then-Tohana police station in-charge Pradeep Kumar. On the complaint of the SHO, the criminal Baba was booked under IPC sections 292, 293, 294, 376, and 384, A case was registered under section 509 and section 67-A of the IT Act. A year ago in 2017, a case was registered against the criminal Jalebi Baba Amarveer at Tohana City Police Station under sections 328, 376, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code on a complaint filed by a woman.
