MobiKwik, a leading fintech company, is bolstering its team to boost its payment services. Mohit Narain has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer – Consumer Payments.

In another move, Harvinder Singh Chadha has joined Zaak ePayment Services Private Limited (Zaakpay), a subsidiary of MobiKwik, as Vice President to oversee the payment gateway operations.

Narain has been with MobiKwik for over five years, serving as Operational Excellence Coach. He played a key role in driving the company's growth through implementing effective processes and optimizing resources and costs.

In his new capacity, Narain will focus on enhancing operational efficiencies within the Payments division, particularly concentrating on UPI, MobiKwik Wallet, Offline QR, and devices (Soundbox and POS). Before MobiKwik, Narain worked with ACL Mobile Limited among other companies.

Harvinder joins from Cashfree Payments, where he led the enterprise business. With more than 20 years of experience in banking and fintech, Harvinder has worked with major institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank, YES Bank, and HSBC, focusing on expanding their payments operations while ensuring compliance and governance.

At Zaakpay, Harvinder will drive business growth for the payment gateway division, overseeing online merchant acquisition for both small and medium businesses (SMBs) and enterprises, forging banking partnerships, and building teams for sustainable growth.

Bipin Preet Singh, Co-founder & CEO of MobiKwik, commented on the appointments, stating, “India's digital payments landscape has seen significant growth. Recognizing the changing needs of businesses and consumers, we've made strategic appointments to strengthen our position in the payments sector.

“Congratulations to Mohit and Harvinder as they bring their expertise to their new roles. We remain committed to innovation, customer-centric solutions, and providing value to our users and partners,” Singh added.

In October 2023, Zaakpay received in-principle authorization from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a payment aggregator/payment gateway (PA/PG). This authorization allows Zaakpay to onboard new merchants quickly for online payment processing.
