Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has blamed the Central Government for the lack of oxygen in the second wave of covid, saying it ignored the suggestions of the Parliamentary Committee and has done injustice to the people by deciding to export oxygen and increase its value in times of crisis.

Vadra said in a statement issued here on Saturday as part of the 'Gimmefar Kaun' campaign that the government has increased oxygen exports by 700 percent during the epidemic period, causing acute oxygen shortage to the country in the second wave of covid and the large figure of people being separated from their families.

He said the people of the country suffered because of the negligence of the government. He questioned whether the government did not make arrangements to use industrial oxygen as medical oxygen. He also said that the government ignored the suggestions of the Parliamentary Committee and decided to increase the prices of oxygen cylinders and refilling. The Congress General Secretary said that due to wrong decision of the government, people died in agony due to lack of oxygen in all hospitals across the country. This great crisis of oxygen could have been easily averted if preparations were made in a planned manner in the time between the first and second waves.
