New Delhi: The Modi government at the Center seems to be very strict about IT rules. The government takes action against anti-national activities going on on social sites from time to time. In this sequence, now the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has ordered YouTube to ban 45 videos from 10 YouTube channels. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has taken this action on the basis of inputs from intelligence agencies.

The videos banned by the ministry had been viewed more than 13 million times. In these videos, propaganda was being spread against the Indian Army, national security system and Kashmir through fake content. Not only this but the map of India was also being shown wrong in them. Regarding the banning of these videos, the release issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that "Based on inputs from intelligence agencies, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has ordered YouTube to ban  45 videos from 10 channels. The order was issued on September 23, 2022, under the Information Technology Rules 2021. The banned video has been viewed more than 13 million times.''

The release further stated that these YouTube channels included fake news and morphed videos spread with the aim of spreading enmity between religious communities. Not only this, the video contained fake claims such as 'government has taken away religious rights of certain communities', 'violent threats against religious communities,' and 'declaration of civil war in India'. These videos could have caused communal enmity and public disorder in the country, hence they have been banned.
