The corona epidemic has created panic everywhere and there have been reports of relief for the government amid the growing corona cases in the country. The GST collection for the month of April has reached a record high in the country. The total GST collection in the month of April stood at Rs 1,41,384 crore, a new record. The central GST has been 27,837 crore, state GST is 35,621 crore and inter GST is 68,481 crore and cess is 9,445 crore.

29,599 crore in IGST has been earned by taxing imported goods only. The GST collection for March was Rs.1239.02 crore which was the highest in a month so far. The GST collection in April has surpassed the old figures. Looking at the GST collection for the last six months, it was 1239.02 crore in March, 1131.43 crore in February, 1198.75 crore in January, 1151.74 crore in December, 1049.63 crore in November, 1051.55 crore in October.

At the same time, the GST collection in April is 14 per cent higher than in March, in line with the trend of increase in GST collections for the last six months. On the other hand, the revenue received from Domestic Transaction this month (including import of services) is 21 per cent higher than last month.
