Guwahati: Flood continues to wreak havoc in Assam. So far 34 people have lost their lives due to floods in the state. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced financial assistance of 2 lakh rupees to the victims who lost their loved ones in the flood. PM Modi spoke to Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal on the flood situation in the state on Friday and assured all possible help from the center.
It is noteworthy that 22 of 33 districts of Assam are affected by the floods, which has disrupted the lives of more than 16 lakh people. 34 lives have been lost in the state so far. The state has suffered heavy losses due to floods. The Prime Minister assured all help from the Center. Assam's CM Sonowal tweeted and thanked PM Modi. It also said that PM Modi took information about flood and coronavirus situation and assured help.
In view of the devastation caused by floods in the country every year, now the Ministry of Home Affairs is trying to find a permanent solution. Home Minister Amit Shah has instructed officers of other ministries to work together for this. If Amit Shah's master plan is successful, then flooding in the country will help to prevent the huge loss of life and property.
