New Delhi: Now air travellers will have to pay more. The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has hiked the ticket prices of the plane. The new rates will come into effect from June 1. The Union Ministry has increased the fares of aircraft with different durations by 13 to 16 per cent.
According to the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, the lower fare limit for 40-minute aircraft has been increased from Rs 2300 to Rs 2600. The lower fare limit for a 40-60 minute flight has now been reduced from Rs 2,900 to Rs 3,300 per passenger. This decision has been taken amid the corona crisis. The aviation sector is suffering a lot due to corona. According to an estimate by the Center for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA), the sector could lose six to six and a half billion dollars in the fiscal year. To overcome this crisis requires an investment of about $5 billion. Tell us that CAPA is a company advising the domestic aviation sector.
Last year, the International Aviation Travel Association (IATA) claimed in a report that corona would cost Indian airlines $1,122 million (about Rs 86,000 crore) in 2020 and that more than 2.9 million people could be unemployed.
