After the martyrdom of her husband, the wife joined the 'Indian Army'

Jammu: Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhondial, who was awarded the SC (P), was martyred in an encounter with Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir in February 2019. Today, his wife Nitika Kaul has joined the Indian Army. After joining the Army, she has now become 'Lt. Nitika Dhondial'. Nitika today wore an Indian Fars uniform and paid homage to martyr Major Vibhuti Shankar.

Major Dhondial was martyred in an encounter at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 18, 2019. On February 14, 2019, a terrorist attack on a convoy of CRPF took place in Pulwama. 40 jawans were martyred. It was only after this attack that the Army launched an operation to pile up terrorists in Pinglan village of Pulwama. Four jawans were martyred in the encounter in Pinglan. Among the martyrs was Major Rank Officer Vibhuti Dhondhiyal.

Major Dhondhiyal and Nitika were married for only 10 months and the first marriage was anniversary in April 2019. Nitika had described her husband as a brave army and said that she was confident that her husband's martyrdom would inspire more people to join the forces. When his body reached his hometown after the martyrdom of Major Dhondhiyal, his wife Nitika could not help but be proud of him. Nitika, who was standing near major Dhondhiyal's body, saluted her husband. Nitika said, 'You lied to me that you love me. You loved my country more than me and I am proud of it'.
