New Delhi: In the wake of the corona crisis in the country, the Central Government has made a big announcement providing relief to the poor. The government has announced the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan yojana in May and June for the next two months. Under this, 5 kg of foodgrains will be provided free of cost to the poor. The government's decision will benefit about 800 million people. It is believed to provide relief to the poor.
In a measure to provide free foodgrains to the beneficiaries, the Government of India has decided to provide free foodgrains to 80 crore beneficiaries similar to last year's Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. Under the scheme approved by the government, 5 kg of free foodgrains per person per month will be given to about 800 million people for 2 months. The Government of India will spend more than Rs 26,000 crore on this initiative. After taking the decision, PM Narendra Modi stressed that it is very important that when the country is facing another wave of coronavirus, the poor of the country should get support for nutrition.
Ration cardholders will be benefited under the scheme. If your ration card contains the names of 4 people, all will get 5 to all 4 members a total of 20 kg of foodgrains. This grain will be different from the food grains you get per month on ration cards. That is, if you get 5 kg of foodgrains on a ration card in a month, you will now get 5 + 5, or a total of 10 kg, in May and June.
