New Delhi: The government has given relief to the unemployed industrial workers in the Corona pandemic. Such employees will be given an unemployment benefit of up to 50 percent of the average of their last three months' salary. About 40 lakh workers are expected to be benefited from this decision.
The government has simplified the rules and decided that industrial workers who lost jobs in the Corona epidemic period should be given 50% of their three months' salary as unemployment benefit. This benefit will be given to those workers whose job after 24 March this year. According to the Mint report, this proposal was placed in the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) meeting on Thursday. ESIC is an organization under the Ministry of Labor that provides insurance under the ESI Scheme to employees up to Rs 21,000.
Amarjeet Kaur, a member of the board of ESIC, said, "With this step, the eligible persons insured under ESIC will be given cash assistance of up to 50 percent of their salary for three months." According to its data, ESIC will give this benefit to the unemployed workers, but for this, employees can apply directly by going to any ESIC branch and after proper verification, the money will be directly delivered to their bank account. For this, the help of the Aadhaar number will also be taken.
