Ahmedabad: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday (June 2, 2022) has said that work is on to set up model schools across the country to prepare students for the future and create a laboratory of the new National Education Policy. These schools will be known as 'PM Sri School'.
On the second day of the National School Education Ministers' Conference in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Dharmendra Pradhan said, "PM Sri Schools will be the laboratory of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. They will be fully equipped to prepare the students for the future. At the same time, he has asked the states to give their feedback to create a futuristic benchmark model in the form of PM Sri Schools. "The next 25 years are crucial to establish India as a knowledge economy, which is committed to the global welfare, we are a civilization that believes in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. We must realize that we have responsibilities not only of our country, but also of the world. '
Dharmendra Pradhan also highlighted the 5+3+3+4 approach to the National Education Policy. Nep preferred from pre-school to secondary, emphasis on ECCE, training of teachers and adult education, integration of skill development with schooling. Learning in your mother tongue is an important step in preparing the global citizens of the 21st century. He further said that the best practice in the field of education is to transform the youth coming from different states into 'world-human'. This could greatly benefit the education fraternity from models from Karnataka, Odisha, Delhi, Meghalaya, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana.
