UNITED STATES: Supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are gearing up to celebrate his third swearing-in across 22 cities in the United States, according to a senior leader from the Overseas Friends of BJP-USA (OFBJP-USA). Celebrations will take place in cities such as New York, Jersey City, Washington DC, Boston, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco over the current and upcoming weekends.

"Victory celebrations will be held from this Friday to next Sunday in 22 cities in the US," said OFBJP-USA President Adapa Prasad on Friday.

During the election campaign, OFBJP-USA and its members organized several awareness initiatives in various American cities, including car rallies and phone campaigns to connect with voters in India.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the largest party in the Lok Sabha, and this is the first time since 1962 that a prime minister has been elected for a third consecutive term. Prime Minister Modi's upcoming oath-taking ceremony marks a historic event, being the first of its kind in over 60 years.

"This is a historic occasion and a proud moment for all of us," said Chandrakant Patel, former president of OFBJP-USA, who is hosting the first of the victory celebrations in Tampa, Florida.

Following the formation of the new government, Prasad mentioned that OFBJP-USA plans to launch an advocacy campaign to strengthen the India-US relationship. "We aim to mobilize the Indian diaspora to enhance the India-US relationship," he stated.

The group also plans to reach out to the prime minister to establish an NRI Commission to address issues faced by overseas Indians and the diaspora. Many Indians living abroad face problems related to property and minor issues such as bank signature mismatches.

Additionally, OFBJP-USA intends to advocate for voting rights for NRIs. Currently, NRIs must travel to India to vote, which is often expensive. The group hopes to address this with the new government.

Results of India's extensive elections, announced on June 4, revealed that the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition, led by Prime Minister Modi, was re-elected for a historic third term. The results also indicated a resurgence in seats held by an opposition coalition led by the Congress party.
