MOSCOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in Moscow on Tuesday, highlighting India's remarkable transformation over the past decade. He emphasized the nation's rapid development, which has astonished the global community, attributing this progress to the collective strength of India's 140 crore citizens who are dedicated to realizing the vision of 'Viksit Bharat.'
"Today's India is brimming with self-confidence, a stark contrast to the pre-2014 era, and this self-assurance is our greatest asset," Modi declared.
He stressed the importance of community support, saying, "With your blessings, we can achieve even the loftiest of goals. India today accomplishes whatever it sets its sights on."
Modi affirmed his commitment to overcoming challenges and predicted that India would spearhead a new era of global growth in the coming years. He also announced the establishment of two new consulates in Russia, underscoring the strength of the India-Russia relationship. He encouraged the diaspora, calling them India's brand ambassadors, and pledged to work three times harder in his third term to meet the nation's aspirations.
Reflecting on his recent re-election, Modi stated, "A month ago, I took oath for the third consecutive term, resolving to work with triple the effort and speed to achieve our country's goals."
He outlined the government's ambitious targets, including making India the world's third-largest economy, building three crore homes for the underprivileged, and transforming three crore impoverished rural women into 'lakhpati didis.' His speech was met with enthusiastic chants of 'Modi, Modi' and 'Modi hai toh mumkin hai' from the audience.
Highlighting India's achievements, Modi noted, "India was the first to send Chandrayaan to a previously unexplored region of the moon and has set the global standard for reliable digital transactions."
Concluding his address, Modi stated, "The development of the past 10 years was merely a preview; we will witness much more rapid growth in the next decade."
