New Delhi: Team India's fast bowler Mohammed Shami is in trouble these days. Kolkata's Alipur court has issued an arrest warrant in connection with a domestic violence case on Shami, who went on a visit to the Windies. A case was filed against him in 2018 by his wife Hasin Jahan, in respect of which this warrant has been issued against him.

Shami has been given 15 days to surrender and apply for bail. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has made it clear that no action will be taken against Shami until he sees the charge sheet. A BCCI official said that it is too early to take any action on this matter.

Once we see the charge sheet then only we will be able to make a decision. The officer said that we understand that an arrest warrant has been issued. But we do not think we need to interfere in this matter yet. Once we look at the charge sheet, then we will decide whether any action needs to be taken as per the BCCI constitution.
But at this time I can only say that it is too early to do anything. The board said that his contract would not be terminated yet. Necessary steps will be taken after his return to the country.
