Mollywood actors paid tribute to veteran actor Oduvil Unnikrishnan on his death anniversary. May 27 marks the 15th death anniversary of Oduvil Unnikrishnan. Malayalam celebrities including Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Salim Kumara, and many others took to their respective social media platforms to remember the veteran.
Mohanlal, who has shared the screen with the late actor several times, shared a photograph and offered tributes. Mohanlal and Oduvil Unnirkshnan had exceptional chemistry on screen. And one of their most memorable moments on screen was in the film ?Devasauram?. Oduvil Unnikrishnan played Peringodu Sankara Marar, a friend and father-like figure of Mangalassery Neelakandan (Mohanlal). The duo has an enviable chemistry on-screen and the song ?Vande Mukundahare? still sends chills down the spine of cinephiles.
Suresh Gopi who has also worked with the veteran shared that the memories won?t perish. National award-winning actor Salim Kumar also paid homage to the late actor.
Oduvil Unnikrishnan, who ventured into cinema by the late 1970s was identified for his soulful performance. His versatility, mannerisms, unique prowess in handling dialects made him popular among the cinephiles.
Some of his popular films include ?Nizhalkuthu?, ?Kathapurushan?, ?Thooval Kottaram?, ?Sargam?, ?Yodha?, ?Aaram Thamburan? among others. He has also won the Kerala State Film Award for best actor once and for Best Supporting Actor twice.
