Money Laundering Case: Nawab Malik Approaches Supreme Court, Challenges Bombay High Court Order

Mumbai: Nawab Malik, a cabinet minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of Maharashtra, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court order. In fact, his petition related to the action taken against him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was dismissed by the Mumbai High Court.

Let us inform that Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik has been sent to judicial custody till April 4 in the money laundering case. Earlier, a special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court in Mumbai, while hearing the matter, said that on the basis of the statements of the witnesses, prima facie it appears Malik's involvement in money laundering.

Special Judge RN Rokade in his judgment sent senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik to 14-day judicial custody in a money laundering case related to the activities of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. Let us inform that 62-year-old Malik was arrested by the ED on February 23.
