United Nations: Within ten months, the worldwide death toll from Covid has exceeded 1 million. According to Johns Hopkins University, about half of these deaths occurred in the United States, Brazil, India and Mexico. While 205,031 people have died in the United States, 142,058 have died in Brazil, 95,542 in India and 76,730 in Mexico.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres believes that this figure of deaths from infection is heart-wrenching, international cooperation and leadership are needed to fight this crisis. However, many experts believe that this figure of deaths could be more than a million, because there is less testing for Covid-19 in many countries due to which the deaths from Covid-19 are not recorded correctly.

The first case of Covid reported in Wuhan, China ten months ago. The virus, spread from here, has spread to 188 countries and has infected thirty million people worldwide. Scientists are constantly working on the vaccine to control the Covid-19 pandemic, but experts believe that an effective vaccine against it is difficult to be developed before next year. The WHO has warned that as long as no effective vaccine of Covid-19 is found, two million people may die from the virus.
