Lahore: A government document leaked in neighboring Pakistan has revealed that authorities have ignored experts who wanted a one-month lockdown in the country's Punjab province and estimated that there could be 670,000 people infected with Coronavirus in the provincial capital Lahore.
Residents criticized the government for loosening restrictions on the recommendation, instead of focusing on the recommendation after the media published the report of experts on Tuesday. The report was based on a sample survey in Lahore, leading to 245 deaths by 15 May. This paper came out hours before Pakistan PM Imran Khan exempted the applicable Coronavirus restrictions in March. It has announced a waiver of restrictions saying that, Pakistanis need to learn how to live with the virus because the lockdown does not cure the disease.
3,938 new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan. After the latest cases, the total number of corona infected has also crossed 76 thousand. Of these, more than 1600 patients have died. According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 76 thousand 3 hundred 98 cases of corona infection have been reported so far in Pakistan, out of which 1 thousand 6 hundred 21 people have died.
