The 11th season of the Indian Premier League is going to begin in a weeks and the teams have already begun with their practice camps. The IPL has provided opportunities to several Indian cricketers over the years and it has served as a door to the Indian national team. Ahead of IPL 2018, we look at 5 batsmen who hit most number of fours in IPL history.

5. Virat Kohli- 382

The way Virat Kohli is going at the moment, it won’t be surprising to see him shatter some big records in the 11th season of the IPL. He has not only scored 4 brilliant centuries during the last 10 seasons but has also managed to hit 382 fours in that span of time.

4. Shikhar Dhawan-401
Both David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan will be appearing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 11th season of the IPL. The duo was fantastic in SRH’s title-winning 2016 season. Dhawan who has played over 120 IPL matches in his career has smashed 401 fours during that run, ironically same as his franchise captain Warner.

3. David Warner-401

The only foreigner to be represented on this list, David Warner has been prolific during his IPL career. He has won the orange cap twice till now and has managed to whack the bowlers for 401 fours. The Australian batsman has scored 3 centuries and 36 half-centuries in IPL. His superb performance with the bat and while leading the side led to Sunrisers Hyderabad retaining him for the upcoming seasons.

2. Suresh Raina-402

Cricketing fans across this country were delighted to see Suresh Raina being called up for the upcoming T20 series against South Africa. The Chennai Super Kings player holds the record for scoring the most runs in IPL and making the most appearances. During the last 10 season, he has managed to hit 402 fours which have helped him achieve one hundred and 31 half-centuries. He was the second player to be retained by CSK for the 11th season after MS Dhoni.

1. Gautam Gambhir- 483 fours

An IPL legend, Gautam Gambhir has not played some historic knocks for team India but has also led his former team Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles. The 36-year-old as scored 4132 runs till now in the IPL, which have included a massive 483 fours.
