Moonbin's mother spoke forward to express her gratitude to everyone who has been grieving the loss of her late son. On April 19 of this year, Moonbin passed away at the age of 25. In the midst of everything, his mother pleaded with others not to gossip about him.
On April 20, 2023, ASTRO member Moobin departed away, leaving friends, family, and supporters in mourning at his premature passing.To the dismay of Moonbin's mother, who has taken matters into her own hands, rumours of his death have persisted for more than a month.Fantagio, ASTRO's music label, sent a statement on the group's online fan café on June 13. "I hope that all the fans also find comfort and stay in good health. The reason that I ended up writing this letter is because, even though I know everyone is mourning and grieving for my son, I’ve seen that there have been groundless rumours starting in a small minority of online communities.
"First, I received a lot of comfort from the sincerity of the fans who, even though it was a long distance to travel, came all the way to [Moonbin's memorial spaces] and wrote heartfelt letters and brought flowers.Truly, I sincerely thank you. I hope that all the fans also find comfort and stay in good health. "The reason that I ended up writing this letter is because, even though I know everyone is mourning and grieving for my son, I've seen that there have been groundless rumors starting in a small minority of online communities.’’
“These kinds of rumours are so difficult for me to see as a mother, and I am also worried that because of these false rumours, many people will suffer damages, and the fans who have been grieving for my son might suffer heartbreak. I don’t want my son to become fodder for gossip, and I entreat you to please not start any more rumours or spread unconfirmed facts. I don’t want the fans whom Bin loved so dearly to live on with broken hearts. I sincerely thank all of you for your heartfelt mourning,” it ended.
The whole K-pop scene is still in shock at Moonbin's passing. His death was confirmed by the agency, which had earlier released a statement., "On April 19, ASTRO member Moon Bin unexpectedly left our world and became a star in the sky." It also asked people to "refrain from speculative and malicious reports" so that his family can honour him in peace and pay their respects. A permanent memorial place for Moonbin was recently revealed by the organisation. The location is Gukcheongsa Temple.
