Kolkata: A shocking incident has come to light from Kolkata. Actually here a woman gave birth to a child in the toilet of her house, then broke the window of the toilet and threw it outside in the drain. When people around saw this, they informed the police. Thereafter, the police admitted the child to the hospital, where the child died the next day during treatment. 

The same woman has been identified as Nikola Stanislaus (32). Police said that the woman had gone to the toilet at around 4:30 pm on Saturday. Because of this she gave birth to a child. The woman did not understand anything due to the sudden birth of the child and she broke the window of the toilet and threw the child into the drain through the window. When the local people heard the sound of breaking the window, they saw that the woman was throwing something from the window. On this, when the local people went near the drain and looked, they saw a newborn child in the drain. On this, the local people informed the police. After getting the information, the police reached the spot, took the child out of the drain and admitted him to the hospital. The child's condition was critical and he died on Sunday morning during treatment. During police interrogation, Nicola said that she did not know about her pregnancy as she had not been menstruating for the past several months.

Nicola told that when she went to the toilet and the child was born, she could not understand what to do and in this confusion, she broke the window and threw the child into the drain. Police said that the criminal woman Nicola and her husband were living in a live-in relationship since June 2022. The two had married in November last year. Both are addicted to alcohol. Police said that the mental condition of the criminal woman is not good and has been talking very little for the last 2 to 3 months. Doctors say that the child was born in 7 months and she got hurt during pregnancy itself, due to which bleeding was happening and the woman mistook this blood for menstruation. The police have registered a case against the woman under section 315 of the IPC. The woman has also accepted her crime.
