A statement by Fitch Solutions Country Risk and Industry Research has come out on Friday. In which research has been presented about the auto sector. Let us tell you that the motorcycle segment of the auto industry in India will perform better than the rest of the auto segment as more consumers will be forced to enter the motorcycle segment due to increasing financial pressure due to the coronavirus epidemic. The Fitch Group unit said in a statement that domestic motorcycle production will gain some support from the change in demand, but will gain more from the export market, as demand for motorcycles remains relatively strong in many markets. Let's know in full detail.

Its statement further stated that motorcycle manufacturers in India have largely returned to normal operations and this segment is not as dependent on imported components as it is in other parts of the country's automotive industry, which is further constrained by supply chain bottlenecks.

Apart from this, it said that when we estimate that India's motorcycle sales will be at the rate of 23.7 percent per annum in 2020-21, we expect that the production of the motorcycle will be only 16 percent in a year. This contraction in both output and sales is largely due to the stagnation of production and dealership operations that previously occurred during the two nationwide lockdowns. Also, it said, "While we believe that the continued increase in COVID-19 transition will prevent consumers from making big purchases, now the fear of public transport will drive some consumers to buy motorcycles in 2020-21."
