Itanagar: Tapi Mra, the first mountaineer from Arunachal Pradesh to scale Mount Everest, is reportedly missing for the past 7 days. According to the report, he was on an expedition to explore the snow-capped Mount Kyrisatum in the East Kameng district on the border with China. His colleague Niku Dao, who accompanied him on the mission, is also said to be missing.

Officials have said that it takes about 6-7 days to reach the base camp of Khayrav Satam through dense forests. Officials said that two helicopters were called to find them and a massive search operation was launched, but he could not be found. On Tuesday (August 30), the state's Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung informed that "the search operation has been stopped due to bad weather and the administration has been asked to continue the operation on foot."

The Mountaineering and Paragliding Association has also sought help from the state CM Pema Khandu. Association head and social worker Vijay Sonam has informed that Everester did not return to the base camp for the last 7 days. He urged CM Pema Khandu to send a team of NDRF to conduct the search operation. Let us inform you that 37-year-old Tapi Mara scaled Mount Everest on 21 May 2009. He is the first person from Arunachal Pradesh to do so.
