Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh) - In the latest updates, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Monday that their state president, Rani Agarwal, will be a prominent contender in the fast-approaching Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. The highly influential figure, who also holds the position of Mayor within the Singrauli Municipal Corporation, will be vying for the Singrauli constituency against formidable opponents from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ramniwas Shah, and Congress' Renu Shah.

This strategic move underscores AAP's growing presence in the state, as they have now unveiled their candidates for 70 of the total 230 assembly seats scheduled for the upcoming election next month.

The AAP's journey to this moment began with the release of their initial list of 10 candidates on September 8, followed by the second list of 29 candidates on October 2. Most recently, on October 21, the party unveiled its third list, which comprised 30 promising candidates. This demonstrates their commitment to fielding strong contenders across Madhya Pradesh.

On the opposing side, the ruling BJP has made substantial strides by announcing candidates for 228 seats through five separate lists. The first and second lists included 39 candidates each, the third list featured a single nominee, the fourth list incorporated 57 candidates, and the fifth list showcased an impressive 92 names. Only Guna (Scheduled Caste) and Vidisha seats remain to be officially declared by the party.

Similarly, the Congress has named 229 candidates out of the total 230 available seats, with the candidate for the Amla (Scheduled Caste) seat in Betul district yet to be announced.

Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for the assembly polls, which are slated for November 17. The election, covering all 230 Assembly constituencies, will be conducted in a single phase, with the counting of votes scheduled for December 3. It promises to be a crucial moment in the political landscape of the state.
