Bhopal: Counting of votes for by-elections to 28 assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh is taking place and results are coming today. The BJP is looking at 21 seats in the initial trends that are coming up now, the Congress is appearing in 6 seats. Apart from these two, BSP is ahead in 1 seat. If CM Shivraj has to maintain his government, he will have to win 9 seats. In Madhya Pradesh, there have never been by-elections to so many seats before.

The 22 rebel MLAs of the Congress, including former union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, had filed their names in the BJP, shocked the Congress, and because of that, the Kamal Nath government fell. The by-election came from the fall of Kamal Nath government.
