Visakhapatnam: The opposition has started targeting the ruling party over the mass suicide case in Andhra Pradesh over police harassment. The police were charged with harassment in an investigation into the theft complaint against the auto driver, after which the entire family of the auto driver committed suicide jumping ahead of moving train.
In this case, the family head's video has heated politics. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has called on Chalo Nandyal to protest against the ruling party. It may be noted that an entire family of 4 members near Panyam railway station in Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh jumping in front of a moving train. A video surfaced after the mass suicide case in which family chief Abdul Salam accused Nandyal city police inspector Somshekhar Reddy and Havildar Gangadhar of physical and mental harassment.
Abdul was also accused by the police in the case that he was stolen from a jewellery shop in the Rozkunta area of Nandyal. The auto driver was arrested by the police, but he was later released on bail. Before committing suicide, auto driver Abdul Salam made a video accusing the police of harassment, followed by jumping in front of the train with wife Noorjehan (38), daughter Salma (14) and son Kajaldar (10).
