Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to interact with India's Asian Para Games contingent on November 1, 2023, at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. The purpose of this interaction is to congratulate and motivate the athletes for their exceptional performance at the Asian Para Games.

India's athletes performed remarkably well at the Asian Para Games 2022, winning a total of 111 medals, including 29 gold medals. This achievement marked a significant improvement compared to the previous edition in 2018, with a 54% increase in the total medal tally and nearly double the number of gold medals.

The interaction event will be attended by the athletes, their coaches, officials from the Paralympic Committee of India, the Indian Olympic Association, representatives from National Sports Federations, and officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

At the Asian Para Games 2022, India's performance was particularly strong in athletics, with 55 medals, including 18 golds, 17 silver, and 20 bronze medals. In para-badminton, India secured 21 medals, including four golds, four silvers, and 13 bronzes. The archery team contributed seven medals, consisting of two golds, three silvers, and two bronze medals.

Additionally, India excelled in para-shooting with six medals, including two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. Chess brought eight medals, with two golds, a silver, and five bronzes. India's para-canoe team claimed four medals, one gold, one silver, and two bronzes. Para-lifting earned three medals, one silver, and two bronzes.

Para-judo and para table tennis each brought home a silver and a bronze medal, while India won two bronze medals in para table tennis.

This impressive performance at the Asian Para Games 2022 highlights the determination and dedication of India's para-athletes, and the interaction with Prime Minister Modi is a well-deserved recognition of their outstanding achievements.
