PUNE: The Maharashtra Public Services Commission will conduct a common preliminary examination for three state services from next year. The services include Maharashtra Forest Services, Maharashtra Agriculture Services and Maharashtra Engineering Services.
A notification by MPSC is issued on Friday stating that during the application process for the common preliminary examination, aspirants will be asked for which service would they like to apply for it may be one, two or all the three categories of services. The merit list will be prepared separately for each category.
The main examination for each department will also be held separately. Until 2020, the commission would advertise thrice for recruitment of Class A and Class B officers in the three-state services.
MPSC Students Rights, Kiran Nimbhore, said the move will not benefit the students. “Until this year, a student could appear for the other examination even if she remained absent in one. But from now, she will get just one chance to appear for the exam,” Nimbhore said.
