Mumbai: Reliance Industries Limited, led by Mukesh Ambani, the country's richest man, has donated Rs 1.11 crore to a temple. RIL gave this donation to the temple of Lord Venkateshwara near Tirumala. This was disclosed by a Reliance official. Mukesh Ambani is one of the top donors in the country. A representative of the company has submitted a demand draft of Rs 1.10 crore to A.V. Dharma Reddy, special officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

The temple officials gave this information. The company has requested Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to use the money in the free meal scheme run by the temple for devotees. In this context, the official says that about one lakh people are benefited every day under the scheme.

It is run by the interest received at the temple on a fund of more than Rs 1,000 crore deposited from 1985 till now. According to research conducted in 2016, Mukesh Ambani donated a total of Rs 303 crore that year. He was third in this case. The second was Chief Executive Krish Gopalakrishnan, who donated Rs 313 crore. In the first place was HCL Chairman Shiv Nadar, who donated a total of 630 crore rupees. Ambani launched Jio and created a stir in the telecom sector.
