Lucknow: The law is now tightening its grip on the family of former MLA Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda jail in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, property worth 15 crores of Mukhtar MP Bhai Afzal Ansari was attached on Sunday (24 July 2022). On Monday (25 July 2022), Mukhtar's wife Afshan Ansari and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SubhaSP) MLA son Abbas Ansari were raided. Both are said to be absconding at present.

Police Officer (City) Dhananjay Mishra has informed that Mau police checked the residences and relatives of Abbas and Afshan in Yusufpur, Mohammadabad and Ghazipur city of Ghazipur district, but both were not found. He said that the government has taken possession of the FCI godown at Mau, declaring it as property acquired by the crime by Mukhtar Ansari. Mukhtar's wife Afshan, his brother-in-law and another aide have been made accused in the case. He said that in this case, non-bailable warrants have been issued against the accused, and attachment proceedings have also been taken, but Afshan has not appeared in court till now.

Mishra has told that Abbas Ansari, the elder son of Mukhtar Ansari and sitting MLA from Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SUBHSP) from Mau Sadar, has been accused of using objectionable words towards officials during the campaign for the state assembly elections held earlier this year. The case was registered. In this case, the local MP-MLA court has summoned him several times. But he is not showing up. Efforts are on to arrest them. Let us inform you that Abbas Ansari had given a controversial statement during the 2022 elections, saying that the officers should not be transferred till 6 months after the election results. First, after the formation of the SP government, accounts will be made from them, only after that someone will be transferred or posted. He had even said that he has also spoken to Akhilesh Yadav regarding this. A case was registered against Abbas Ansari after the video went viral.
