New Delhi: The issue of triple talaq law has once again joined the discussions. Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said in this regard that since the enactment of the 'Muslim Women Marriage Rights Protection Act', the number of cases of triple talaq has fallen by more than 83 percent. In all the cases that have come up, action has been taken as per the law.

The Union Minister also said that many Muslim organizations want to celebrate the date of August 1 as 'Muslim Women's Rights Day'. It shows that during Modi government many big reforms have been done, new decisions have been taken. Apparently in the month of July last year, the Muslim Women's Marriage Protection Protection Bill was passed from both houses of Parliament. After which President Ramnath Kovind gave his signature to this bill on August 1, 2019 and approved it.

West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Babul Supriyo has also reiterated the lack of three divorce cases, underlining Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi's statement. In a post on the website of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Naqvi while referring to the special days of August Mehen said, "August 8 Quit India Movement, August 15 Indian Independence Day, August 19, World Humanities Day, August 20, Goodwill Day On August 5, 370 days are such days as recorded in the golden words of history. At the same time, August 1 has been marked as 'Muslim Women's Rights Day' in the history of India.
