Mumbaikars are currently receiving heavy rains even as the Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted “heavy to very heavy” rains in Maharashtra, including the city and outer edge.

According to reports Lightning hit Patanbunder village, Bhayandar in which one killed and 6 injured.

We are expecting heavy rainfall to continue over Mumbai and Konkan region for the next two days. Mumbai Police issued safety guidelines and tweeted, “You surely don’t want your vehicle & you lying like that on the road, in the rains! The roads are slippery & it’s consequence was seen this morning at Lower Parel!Thankfully no casualties.Please drive extra carefully. Decrease speed, increase cautiousness”.

It is noted that the trains on Central Railways suburban are running with delay of 10-12 minutes. There is no cancellation reported at present: CPRO Central Railways

The total rainfall recorded so far from June 1 for Mumbai by the IMD Colaba observatory has been 119 mm and IMD Santacruz 174.7 mm while The rainfall recorded between the 24 hour period of June 8-9 by IMD Colaba was 38.2 mm and IMD Santacruz 37mm.
