On Wednesday, commuters on the Harbour line faced trouble during peak hours in the morning as locals were running late. The delay was caused as the overhead wire, that supplies power to the trains, snapped near Mankhurd station on Harbour Line.
In January this year, Central Railway had installed a blue indicator light at the entrance of a suburban train coach as a pilot project to warn passengers not to board trains on the verge of departing. Last year in April, Western Railway officials had begun operating all 49 scheduled services on the Harbour line that was extended till Goregaon. The extension of the route, from Andheri to Goregaon, was inaugurated by Railway and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal.
