Mumbai: A Mumbai NGO has resolved to produce lakhs of mango trees during the mango season. For which he is demanding people to donate the remaining kernels to the NGO instead of throwing them away after eating mangoes. The aim is to grow millions of mango trees in the city of Mumbai. The decision was taken by Mission Green Mumbai and Tree Ambulance Foundation after thousands of trees fell into the city due to typhoon Taute and caused huge damage to the environment. A large number of people have donated mango kernels to this NGO.
Shubhjeet Mukherjee, who lives in Mumbai's Charkop area, has more than 100 parcels filled with mango kernels throughout the day. People from all corners of the country are joining his campaign and have sent mango kernels to him in Mumbai. Shubhjeet says that it is good for people to clean and dry mango kernels. But people are helping them in their work and thousands of kernels have come to them today. According to Shubhjeet, his mission has been carried out in collaboration with mumbai municipal corporation, forest ministry and agriculture colleges. Nurseries are associated with many big cities in the country which are engaged in advancing their mission and preparing mango trees.
According to Shubhjeet, the trees prepared from mango kernels will be prepared through graft techniques which will be small but will bear more fruits. Nurseries in many districts of the country like Murbar, Thane, Vardhaman, Allahabad, Meerut, Hyderabad and Aurangabad are engaged in tree preparation from these kernels. According to him, a lot of people are supporting him in this mission. It seems that people are very aware of the environment.
