Kabir Singh is a Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy which starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. Sandeep Reddy Vanga who had directed the Telugu film has also directed the Hindi remake. The film which was a 2017 hit at the box office was then decided to be remade in Hindi with Shahid taking the role of Dr Kabir Rajveer Singh.
