New Delhi: India President, Droupadi Murmu to give away the Digital India Awards 2022 to the winners, in New Delhi on Saturday, 7th January 2023.

Digital India Awards  promote and honour innovative digital initiatives by government companies at all levels. Digital India Awards 2022 aims to inspire and motivate not only the government entities but also start-ups and grassroots level digital initiatives in fulfilling the Digital India vision.

The  Central Government has envisioned the Digital India Programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. 

Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Secretary, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Alkesh Kumar Sharma and  many other dignitaries will  be attending the event at Vigyan Bhawan, in the national capital.
The National Portal of India, which offers a single-window access to information and services provided by Indian government institutions at all levels, is the umbrella organisation under which the Digital India Awards were set up. The National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, has conceived, created, and managed the National Portal.

The Rashtriya Puraskar Portal, which is overseen by the Director General of Awards at the Ministry of Home Affairs, is one of the channels via which government organisations can nominate their digital efforts for the Digital India Awards.

The unified portal has been developed and functionalised on the directions of the honourable  Prime Minister for managing all National Awards.

Following this, the entries are ranked by the nomination processing partner of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the winners are selected by a jury chaired by the Secretary with representation from government, industry and academia.
