Mumbai, Yesterday, music director Om Prakash Sonik, who was also known as Omi, part of the Sonik-Omi duo, passed away after a brief illness.
Omi, who was 77, is survived by son Som and daughter Sudha.
Music director was born in Sialkot (now in Pakistan) and his family had moved to India after Partition in 1947.
Music to over 100 Hindi films have been given by the Sonik-Omi team.
