Bhopal: An incident of a murderous attack on a Bajrang Dal leader for supporting Nupur Sharma has come to light from Madhya Pradesh. The case pertains to the Agar-Malwa district. On Wednesday (July 20, 2022), 26-year-old Ayush was surrounded and attacked with sharp weapons on Ujjain Road in Agar. He has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Police have so far registered a case against 13 criminals. There were also reports of two arrests.
According to media reports, Bajrang Dal's block convener, victim Ayush, had made a statement in support of Nupur Sharma. The fanatics were fed up with this. According to the complaint given to the police, Ayush was riding a motorcycle on the day of the incident and was passing through Ujjain Road. Due to this, the armed group blocked his way and threatened to cut off his head citing Nupur Sharma's supporters.
The victim told the media, "I was going on a motorcycle. 8-10 the boys stopped me with their hands. Asked about my name and being the convener of Bajrang Dal. When I said yes, he asked if he supports Nupur Sharma. When I said yes, they attacked. They were saying to cut off his throats. Kill him. They hit me with what was in their hands. They had a sword in their hands, a sharp weapon, a twig, and they hit me with a stone. There were 10-12 people. The attackers have been identified as Amal, Arbaaz, Asif, Sarfaraz, Chiki, Ammu Mewati, Aman, Sohail, Munna Mewati, Salman, Firdaus, Sameer and Sajid.'' Due to the attack, a crowd of people gathered around and the police also reached the spot. Ayush is undergoing treatment at Ujjain civil hospital, where his condition is said to be out of danger. As soon as the news of the case came, Hindu organisations staged a protest demanding the immediate arrest of the attackers. On the complaint of the victim's father, the police have registered an FIR against the culprits under other sections of attempt to murder, extortion and assault and arrested two criminals. Search is on for other absconding criminals. According to SP Rakesh Sagar, the adequate force has been deployed to keep law and order normal in the district.
