Lucknow: The students of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti University in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow have sat on a dharna. The students are demanding to meet the Vice-Chancellor. "The proctor has told the students that Muslim students will not be given hostels," the students alleged. Khwaja Moinuddin University is located on IIM Road under Madiaon police station area.
It is being told that two days ago, three students were expelled from the hostel on charges of indiscipline. It is alleged that these students were also beaten up by the guards. The students say they had raised their voice against the administration, so they were beaten up by the guards. The students, in a letter to the vice-chancellor of the university, have complained that the dictatorship in the hostel is constantly on the rise. The students were expelled from the hostel without any impartial investigation. Students who raised their voice against it were threatened. They were humiliated by using caste-indicative words against them.
The students, in their complaint, said that the guards appointed in the hostel are used as personal servants and goons. The guards who have been entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the children are hitting the children with sticks. At the same time, proctor is using them as servants.
