Bangalore: A Muslim woman has accepted Lingayat religion in Hukkeri, Karnataka. Shivabaswa Swamiji of Virakta Math performed all the formalities. Actually, a Lingayat youth fell in love with a Muslim woman. Recently both of them got married too. The marriage of both is registered in Belgaum district.

The family of both the young man and the woman were not even against this relationship. However, after marriage, both Shivabaswa met Swamiji and the young man asked Swamiji to accept his wife's Lingayat religion. After Swamiji's approval, the Muslim woman took initiation of Lingayat religion. After the initiation, the woman was gifted the ishtalinga, a chowka and a saffron shawl. The woman tied Linga around his neck.

According to Swamiji, the young man came to him and said that he has fallen in love with a Muslim woman and they want to convert him to Lingayat religion. Three people were present while the woman accepted the Lingayat religion. During this time, social distancing was completely followed. Let us tell you that to prevent the infection of the coronavirus, all the state governments, from the center to the state, are giving special emphasis on social distancing.
