BHUBANESWAR: BJP national President J P  Nadda reached Bhubaneswar on a two-day visit to the state.
After being elected as the BJP's national president, Nadda arrived in Odisha for the first time at the Bhubaneswar airport where he got a rousing welcome.

He was greeted at the airport by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP State President Samir Mohanty, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, and other senior party leaders. After a bike rally, Nadda came to the party office in Bhubaneswar.

The BJP president will speak to workers at the booth level at Janata Maidan as scheduled. He would visit the Jagannath temple in Puri the next day and pray to the holy trinity. He would go to Dhamnagar later in the day to meet the relatives of recently deceased BJP MLA Bishnu Sethi. He will also dedicate the rehabilitation annex building at Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), Olatpur. On September 30, he will host a gathering of the party's frontline organisations at the Janata Maidan.

The BJP is planning the major political events with the 2024 general elections in mind. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had visited the state in August.

Subsequently, 8  Union ministers have now made visits to the state's various districts in connection with departmental events. All the series events show that BJP has tightened its seat belt for the 2024 fight, a political observer said.
A total of 25 platoons of police have been deployed throughout the city in preparation for the BJP president's visit.

To counter Nadda's visit, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), led by Naveen Patnaik, is also hosting a two-day workshop in the nation's capital to educate its members on how to create a schedule for its month-long padayatra, which starts on October 2.
